Imagine my delight when i discovered that there is a new website which analyses your writing style and compares you to a famous author. I simply cut and pasted a segment of my prose (i used my rant about colonic irrigation) into their marvellous program, pressed go and BANG - i am Chuck Palahniuk, author of Fight Club, Choke, Snuff and many more nihilistic and satirical social commentaries.
Given that Palahniuk is up there with Irvine Welsh and JG Ballard as my favourite fiction authors, this news could hardly be better for an aspiring hack, journalist, novelist and raconteur. Although i can't help but think that the only reason i've been compared to the Fight Club man is because of the similarities between my blog and his short story (Guts) about a man's intestines getting slurped out of his anus by a swimming pool filter pump.
Still, i'll gladly accept any/all ego massages available!
